In "The Sovereign and the Savages," Namor finds himself trapped on Skull Island, held prisoner by the ruthless Plunderer, who attempts to sway him with a vibra-gun forged from Plunderstone. As the Swamp Men rise in attack and the Plunderer’s base erupts in flames, Namor barely escapes the inferno—just in time to witness the villain flee in his high-tech submarine, vowing to strike back at Atlantis. Written by Roy Thomas and illustrated by Werner Roth with inks by Dan Adkins, this 1967 adventure brings the Sub-Mariner into a clash of power and survival, with the cover by Marie Severin capturing the clash in vivid detail.
