Marie Severin's pencils and John Verpoorten's inks deliver a stunning cover — Captain Marvel in his red-and-gold uniform strains against a swirling vortex of cosmic energy, with flaming meteors streaking around him above a darkened city skyline, arms outstretched as though fighting to hold the very universe together. It's a beautifully composed piece of late-'60s Marvel cosmic drama, with interior work from Tom Sutton and Dan Adkins promising the same kinetic energy inside the pages.
