In "Alpha, le Mutant," Ka-Zar and his loyal companion Zabu journey to the Everglades to aid Barbara Morse and Paul Allen in tracking down the missing Ted Sallis. When they encounter the Man-Thing and a squad of AIM agents, tensions rise as the team attempts to contain the creature—only for it to break free and pursue them through the swamps. With the help of a surprising ally, Ka-Zar and Barbara must race to rescue Dr. Calvin before the Man-Thing claims another victim. Written by Roy Thomas and Len Wein, with dynamic art by John Buscema, Neal Adams, John Romita, and Rich Buckler, and inked by Dan Adkins, this 1976 issue features a cover by Gil Kane and John Romita, with inks by Frank Giacoia and John Romita.
