Al Milgrom, born March 6, 1950, is an American comic book artist, writer, and editor whose career has been almost entirely synonymous with Marvel Comics. Breaking into the industry in the late 1960s, he developed into a remarkably versatile professional, equally comfortable pencilling, inking, writing, and editing across a span of work that stretches across more than five decades and over two thousand credited issues.
He is perhaps best recognized for his decade-long editorial stewardship of *Marvel Fanfare*, his extensive triple-threat role as writer, penciller, and inker on *Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man*, and a four-year run pencilling *West Coast Avengers*. His work as a longtime inker on *X-Factor* further cemented his reputation as a reliable and adaptable collaborator, and he frequently brought his inking skills to pencils by Jim Starlin in particular.
Beyond Marvel, Milgrom made a significant contribution to the Distinguished Competition: he is a co-creator of the DC superhero Firestorm, a character who went on to enjoy a durable place in that publisher's universe. His most-credited titles in the catalog span beloved Spider-Man series as well as *Thor* and *X-Factor*, reflecting the breadth of his contributions to mainstream superhero comics across the industry's most productive era.
