Subtitled "The Curse and the Cataclysm!", this March 1979 Marvel Two-In-One teams the rocky Ben Grimm — the Thing — with the Sorcerer Supreme, Dr. Strange, for what promises to be a supernatural slugfest. Bob Budiansky and Al Milgrom's cover captures the action vividly: the Thing trades earth-shaking blows with a large, glowing mystical opponent while a blonde woman lies fallen nearby and a white-robed figure channels magical energy in the background, all set against a starlit sky and a looming dark castle. With writer Mary Jo Duffy and artists Alan Kupperberg and Gene Day handling the interior of "Curse of Crawlinswood," this odd-couple pairing of brute strength and arcane power makes for a genuinely compelling combination.
