Hawkman, Hawkgirl and Adam Strange land on war-torn Rann and, joining up with Sardath and the Undergrounders, manage to escape their attackers. Alanna is being held captive in Ranagar by the instigator of the war against Rann, Kanjar Ro. By the time Adam and allies rescue Alanna, Kanjar Ro leaves with his fleet to attempt to attack and destroy Thanagar, Katar’s and Shayera’s home world.
