Marvel Team-Up #94

Spider-Man stumbles through a suffocating tide of supernatural darkness on Al Milgrom's striking cover, his red-gloved hand reaching desperately outward while the cloaked Shroud — "Master of Darkness" — stands at the edge of the shadows, one hand raised as though commanding the blackness itself. It's a moody, atmospheric pairing that makes the most of both characters' visual contrast, hinting at a story where even Spider-Man's agility may be useless against an opponent who literally wields the dark. With a creative team including writer Steven Grant and artist Mike Zeck handling the interior, this June 1980 issue is a compelling showcase for one of Marvel's more underrated mystical figures alongside its most beloved wall-crawler.
