Inside the Null-Life Bomb the Stranger is attempting to slow the expansion of the bomb. The Champions figure out that they were sent to steal Kamo Tharn's Runestaff in order to disarm the bomb but, at an earlier date, Hercules had already taken the Runestaff to earth in order to aid Thor. Darkstar travels back to earth to acquire the Runestaff and, with the aid of the Stranger, uses it to disarm the bomb.
