The Spectacular Spider-Man #6
Against a glowing yellow moon, this 1977 cover by Al Milgrom puts three heavy hitters front and center: Spider-Man swinging in from the left, the flame-wreathed Human Torch looming on the right, and a snarling Morbius the Living Vampire swooping menacingly between them above a shadowy cityscape. The cover copy cheerfully bills it as a "wall-crawler classic" re-presented, teaming Spidey and the Torch against Morbius in "The Power to Purge!" — a combination that promises plenty of action across its pages. With interior work from writers Gerry Conway and Bill Mantlo alongside artist Ross Andru, this is a strong example of Marvel's mid-seventies storytelling at its energetic best.
