“Death's Dark Dreamer!”

This September 1976 issue of Amazing Adventures delivers one of the more striking covers of its era — Killraven charges front and center, sword raised, while an astonishing crowd of familiar Marvel figures surges around him: Daredevil, Iron Man, Black Panther, the Thing, Namor, and more, all rendered with real energy by the penciling and inking team of Keith Pollard and Marie Severin. A Martian war machine looms in the upper background, flames rising behind it, giving the whole scene a genuinely epic sense of scale. Titled "Death's Dark Dreamer!" and promising "the most unexpected shocker of all," this is a tantalizing package from the War of the Worlds corner of the Marvel universe.
