Firestorm #2
Firestorm the Nuclear Man is in over his head in this 1978 DC gem — the flaming hero is shown taking a beating from Multiplex, the self-duplicating villain, while a very unhelpful Superman stands arms-crossed in the background, coolly telling the kid he's on his own. Al Milgrom's cover captures the dynamic tension perfectly, with Firestorm reeling amid a crowd of onlookers as his plea for the Man of Steel's help goes unanswered. Writer Gerry Conway's "Danger Doubled Is Death!" promises a solo trial by fire for one of DC's newest heroes.
