Spider-Man and Daredevil find themselves on the wrong end of a fiery assault in this November 1982 issue, the cover — penciled by Ed Hannigan and inked by Al Milgrom — depicting both heroes sent hurtling backward by the dark, long-haired figure of Solarr, whose solar-powered energy blasts fill the composition with waves of flame and searing light. The cover copy promises "the searing return of the Man Called Solarr," and the image delivers on that threat immediately, with Spider-Man and Daredevil each caught mid-air against a blazing red backdrop. Written by J. M. DeMatteis with interior art by Kerry Gammill, this "Rivers of Blood" chapter pairs two of Marvel's street-level heroes against a villain who clearly has them on the ropes from the very first page.
