Captain Marvel #38

Mar-Vell throws himself into a fierce multi-opponent brawl on this vivid 1975 cover — a large armored foe, a green-skinned attacker, and a blue alien adversary all converge on the cosmic hero at once, with the science-fiction machinery of some extraterrestrial setting crumbling around them. The cover art by Al Milgrom and Klaus Janson promises two big draws: "The Trial of the Watcher" and a bonus tale spotlighting the Lunatic Legion. With Steve Englehart and Al Milgrom also handling the interior, this is a fine example of mid-'70s Marvel cosmic storytelling firing on all cylinders.
