“A Simple Twist of... Fate”

The cover by Ed Hannigan and Al Milgrom is genuinely unsettling in the best way — the massive, shambling form of the Man-Thing dominates the image, its dripping, vine-tangled bulk enveloping a helpless Spider-Man who appears to be caught in its grasp, mask distorted and limbs splayed. It's a striking visual reminder of just how outmatched even a seasoned hero can look against Marvel's muck-encrusted swamp creature. "A Simple Twist of... Fate" sounds like exactly the kind of fateful October 1982 encounter that makes Marvel Team-Up such a consistently rewarding series.
