“Meteor Madness!”

The cover of this April 1980 issue says it all: Spider-Man and Giant-Man are joining forces — and they're going to need every bit of it. Looming over the New York City rooftops in massive, unsettling fashion is Meteor-Man, a white-and-magenta behemoth dwarfing both heroes, with a stunned Giant-Man caught mid-impact while Spider-Man clings defiantly to the villain's enormous form far below street level. Al Milgrom and Joe Rubinstein deliver a wonderfully vertiginous cover composition that drives home the tagline's promise: "Bigger than both of them — and lots, lots nastier!
