Jo, a desperate man in a crumbling tenement, stumbles upon an invisibility cloak and begins a reckless spree of theft. When his landlady arrives with the police, he uses the cloak to vanish—just as they lock the building and begin fumigating it from the outside.

In "A Monster Waits Outside!!," an isolated astronaut aboard a tiny orbital sphere fights a growing dread as he watches a monstrous presence claw at his craft from the void. When he panics and calls for rescue, mission control dismisses his terror—until they discover a shattered claw embedded in the hull.
