Fantastic Four Roast #1
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeSelf-billed as "The World's Silliest Comic Magazine," this 1982 one-shot throws a roast banquet for Marvel's First Family, and the cover by Fred Hembeck (pencils) and Terry Austin (inks) delivers on that promise in gloriously chaotic style. Up on the dais, a tuxedoed emcee welcomes the crowd while Mr. Fantastic, the Thing, the Human Torch, and the Invisible Woman take their seats of honor — the Torch apparently snoozing through the whole affair. The real delight is the packed crowd below: a who's-who of the Marvel Universe circa 1982, including Spider-Man, Captain America, Daredevil, the Scarlet Witch, the Vision, Storm, the Hulk, and dozens more costumed guests mingling with drinks in hand, making this a wonderfully warm celebration of Marvel's superhero community.
