Ron Frenz is an American comics artist whose four-decade career at Marvel Comics has produced some of the publisher's most enduring characters and storylines. Born Ronald Wade Frenz on February 1, 1960, he broke into the industry around 1981 and steadily built a reputation for clean, dynamic storytelling rooted in Marvel's house traditions.
He first drew widespread attention during the 1980s on *The Amazing Spider-Man*, where his work contributed to one of the character's most talked-about developments: the introduction of Spider-Man's black costume.
