“Crystal Blue Persuasion!”

In "Crystal Blue Persuasion!", the Inhumans descend on Earth with a urgent message: Quicksilver has returned, and Crystal must choose between her husband and her place among her people. Tensions rise as the Fantastic Four stand firm against the Inhumans' demands, while on the Moon, the High Evolutionary's Gatherers and Eliminators launch a stealthy assault on the Terrigen Mists. With Steve Englehart scripting the emotional stakes and Kieron Dwyer's dynamic interiors bringing the clash to life—enhanced by Joe Sinnott's inks and Wright's colors—this 1988 annual delivers a high-stakes standoff that tests loyalty, identity, and belonging. Ron Frenz's cover captures the moment of crisis, framing Crystal at the crossroads of two worlds.

The Inhumans arrive on earth to tell Crystal that Quicksilver has returned to the fold and that she is required to return and reconcile with her husband. The Fantastic Four object and battle the Inhumans. Meanwhile, on the moon, the High Evolutionary sends his Gatherers and Eliminators to steal the Terrigen Mists from the Inhumans. The Fantastic Four and Inhumans return to the Moon and drive the Evolutionary's forces off. Rather than see Johnny quit the Fantastic Four, Crystal decides to stay with her people.
