Hobgoblin has blown up Green Goblin's lair and escaped in his battle van. Spider-Man makes his way into the van. It crashes into the river and explodes as Spider-Man escapes. Spider-Man tries to save Hobgoblin but is only able to find his mask. Spider-Man arrives at the Bugle and discovers that J. Jonah Jameson has already printed his crime (the creation of the Scorpion). Jonah has turned the reins over to Robbie and will solely function as the Bugle's publisher. Spider-Man swings into Central Park to find a giant alien complex that he feels compelled to enter. He is off to the Secret Wars.
