Amazing Spider-Girl #17

A masked, trench-coated figure dominates this 2008 cover, thrusting a battered wanted poster toward the reader — and the poster makes the threat unmistakably clear: Spider-Girl is declared "Wanted by the Underworld… Dead or Alive," with "Alive" crossed out in red. The cover art by Ron Frenz and Sal Buscema delivers that message with real menace, the fiery orange background and the villain's cold, goggled stare suggesting the walls are closing in on our hero. Tom DeFalco and Ron Frenz's "A Matter of Trust!" promises a story where the criminal underworld has made its intentions toward Spider-Girl very, very personal.
