“Those Who Hunt Monsters!”

Spider-Girl dives headlong toward the reader against a glowing full moon, the nighttime New York City skyline stretching out beneath her in moody blues and shadows — Ron Frenz's pencils and Sal Buscema's inks giving the image real kinetic energy and atmosphere. The story title "Those Who Hunt Monsters!" hints at serious stakes for May Parker's alter ego as this 2004 series continues to deliver. With Tom DeFalco and Frenz steering the book, issue #69 is a fine entry in one of Marvel's most consistently entertaining runs.
