In "Das Finale!", Spider-Man races to stop Hobgoblin after the villain destroys Green Goblin's lair and flees in a battle van. The chase ends in a crash and explosion by the river, leaving Spider-Man with only Hobgoblin's mask as proof of the encounter. At the Daily Bugle, he finds J. Jonah Jameson has handed control to Robbie Robertson, now serving only as publisher. Drawn by an unseen force, Spider-Man swings into Central Park, where a massive alien complex pulses with mystery—leading him toward the unknown chaos of the Secret Wars.

In "Gefangen in Midgard!", the wounded giant Hrungnir, lost and disoriented after the clash between Tyr and Odin, stumbles through Chicago with fragmented memories. Driven by a fading instinct, he seeks out Thor—only to attack him, his mind clouded by pain and confusion.
