G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #177
In "Feeling Blue" – Part 1, the G.I. Joe team faces a dangerous deception as the Commander is infiltrated by Blue ninjas disguised as loyal Crimson Guardsmen, forcing him to act under the shadow of betrayal. Meanwhile, Storm Shadow escapes the hospital before police can question him, while Cobra troopers, low on fuel, make a desperate landing and seize a freighter to reach Broca Beach. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by Ron Frenz, with inks by Sal Buscema, colors by J. Brown, and letters by Neil Uyetake, the issue’s cover by Ron Frenz and Sal Buscema captures the tension of a mission gone perilously off course.

As Baroness and Snake-Eyes leave a wounded Storm Shadow behind in the hospital for recovery to aid the Commander at Broca Beach, he learns he's been infiltrated by Blue ninjas, under guise as loyal Crimson Guardsmen, forcing him to take extreme measures as BN-001, their leader, attacks him. Meanwhile, Storm Shadow escapes from the hospital before he can be questioned by police from last issue's actions. Loyal Cobra troopers run to the Commander's aid as their helicopters run dangerously low on fuel, forcing them to land and take control of a freighter to get there.
