Ka-Zar the Savage #17
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeMarvel's Lord of the Savage Land trades his loincloth for a trenchcoat in this delightfully offbeat 1982 issue, framed as a hardboiled detective story with Ka-Zar (here billed as Kevin Plunder) seated grimly in a shadowy office, pistol in hand, while a "WANTED" poster lies on the desk before him. Shanna O'Hara strides through the doorway in a leopard-print coat and fedora, every inch the femme fatale, with Zabu — reimagined here as "Rex" — crouching at her feet. Brent Anderson's cover art sells the noir pastiche beautifully, making this one of the more inventive reinventions Ka-Zar saw throughout his early-'80s run.
