Orrgo the Unconquerable looms over a burning cityscape on this 2001 Marvel gem, his massive red visage dwarfing the three Defenders — a blonde warrior woman, a caped figure in blue and gold, and a flame-haired woman — who stand their ground in defiance below. The cover, penciled by Erik Larsen and inked by Ron Frenz, captures that perfect blend of old-school monster-movie dread and superhero bravado.
