Joshua Williamson is an American comic book writer whose expansive output across both DC Comics and the independent market has made him one of the more productive serialized writers of his generation. Active since 2007, he has accumulated credits on more than 600 issues across nearly two decades of work.
DC K.O.: Red Hood vs. Joker #1 (2026)
Williamson built his DC reputation largely through an extended run on The Flash, during which he co-created Godspeed, a speedster villain who has since become a recurring presence in that corner of the DC Universe. He went on to helm major DC line-wide events including Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths and Knight Terrors, and has written solo series for Robin and Green Arrow, as well as the Batman/Superman team-up title. He currently writes Superman and G.I. Joe.
DC K.O.: Knightfight #2 (2026)
Beyond DC, Williamson developed a number of creator-owned projects at Image Comics — among them the murder-mystery horror series Nailbiter, the fantasy adventure Birthright, and the supernatural titles Ghosted and Dark Ride — demonstrating a consistent interest in genre storytelling outside the superhero mainstream.
Iron Man #1 (681) (2026)
He has also contributed to the shared Energon Universe, writing two five-issue miniseries — Duke and Cobra Commander — alongside collaborators Robert Kirkman and Daniel Warren Johnson. His body of work reflects a facility for both intimate character-driven stories and sprawling event narratives.
