A flashback story reveals the origin of The Flash's newest villain, Paradox, who had been a scientist studying time who accidentally gained powers that threw him out of sync with the timeline, trapping him outside of time. He ultimately returns years later, but is transformed into a powerful being who blames the Flash for his situation and plans his revenge.
