Nailbiter #6
Nailbiter has built a reputation for deeply unsettling imagery, and issue #6 delivers on that promise in genuinely disturbing fashion — the cover by Mike Henderson presents a baby dressed in a cheerful duck-print onesie, its face obscured by a Hannibal Lecter-style restraint mask, wide blue eyes staring blankly outward against a backdrop of blood-spattered darkness. The contrast between the innocence of the child and the horror of that mask makes for one of 2014's most arresting cover images. Joshua Williamson and Henderson are clearly committed to pushing this serial killer thriller into territory that gets under your skin and stays there.
