Dark Ride #8

Dark Ride #8 delivers a genuinely unsettling cover from Andrei Bressan and colorist Adriano Lucas — a bloodied man crawls desperately toward the viewer while a trio of monstrous carnival creatures (a hulking multi-eyed beast, a grinning rabbit-masked figure clutching a cleaver, and a small vampiric imp with a blade) loom menacingly above him, framed by a doorway draped with skulls. The carnage-soaked composition captures everything that makes Joshua Williamson's twisted haunted-attraction horror series so compelling: the line between theme-park spectacle and genuine nightmare has completely dissolved. If you've been following this series, issue eight looks set to push the dread even further.
