The Flash #25
In "Running Scared Part One: Every Breath You Take," Barry Allen races into the 25th century to rescue Iris, only to find the future altered in ways he never expected. As flashbacks reveal the first, fateful meeting between Barry and Thawne—when the villain still dreamed of being a hero—the present-day conflict takes on a deeper, more personal weight. Written by Joshua Williamson and illustrated by Carmine Di Giandomenico, Neil Googe, and Ryan Sook, with colors by Ivan Plascencia, Hi-Fi, and Dave McCaig, and lettering by Steve Wands, the issue's cover by Carmine Di Giandomenico captures the tension of a hero facing a twisted future.

Thawne kidnaps Iris and brings her to the 25th century. Barry pursues and finds that the 25th century has changed from when he first met Thawne there years ago. Flashbacks recall the first meeting between Barry and Thawne, when Thawne idolized Flash and wanted to be a hero so much that he endangered innocents so that he could save them, until he was stopped by Barry. Thawne realizes that history has changed for himself, Barry, and Iris, and that things are not as he remembered them originally happening, but he still wants to punish Barry by hurting those closest to him.
