Dark Ride #7 delivers one of the most unsettling images of 2023: a skeletal figure with flowing pink hair cradles two red-headed infants in its bony hands, all set against a twilight amusement park backdrop of roller coasters, a Ferris wheel, and softly glowing lights. The juxtaposition of something so tender as held children against something so macabre is genuinely haunting, and Andrei Bressan's cover art earns every uneasy feeling it provokes. Joshua Williamson, Bressan, and colorist Adriano Lucas continue building their horror-carnival world with this Image series, and this cover alone makes a compelling case for picking up the issue.
