The Flash #26
In "Running Scared Part Two: One Way or Another," Barry Allen faces a chilling vision of a future where his children, Don and Dawn Allen, turn against Central City—fractured by his absence as The Flash. Writer Joshua Williamson and artist Howard Porter deliver a tense, emotionally charged chapter as Thawne forces Barry to confront the cost of his heroism, pushing him toward an impossible choice. The cover by Carmine Di Giandomenico captures the weight of that moment, with Barry’s shadow stretching long across a ruined cityscape.

Thawne allows Barry and Iris to see their future, where their children, Don and Dawn Allen, become villains due to Barry never being there for them because he was always off saving the world as The Flash. In this future, the twins destroy Central City. Thawne convinces Barry that to prevent this future and to stop hurting those whom he loves, Barry must enter the negative speed force and stay there for eternity.
