Styled like a vintage teenage romance comic — complete with the "Not Approved by the Comic Code Authority" stamp — this June 2015 issue of Nailbiter delivers one of the series' most unsettling cover gags. A young woman shares a milkshake with an unnervingly focused blonde man who is intently examining her fingernails, while her thought bubble reads "Why is my boyfriend so obsessed with my nails?" — hearts floating overhead in blissful ignorance. The banner across the bottom promises an "All-New Chilling Teenage Romance" called "I Dated a Serial Killer!", and that retro-pulp presentation makes the dark humor land perfectly.
