“Perfect Storm Part One”

In "Perfect Storm Part One," Barry Allen is left powerless after Grodd steals his speed, setting off a city-wide crisis as the villain prepares to siphon all speed from the world using a massive lightning rod. With Barry unable to act, Kid Flash and Avery step forward to help, only to be ordered to flee Central City—leaving the older Wally as the last Flash standing. As Wally begins evacuating the city, Barry makes a desperate attempt to regain his powers, needing aid from a surprising ally. Written by Joshua Williamson and illustrated by Carlos D'Anda, with colors by Luis Guerrero and letters by Steve Wands, the issue’s cover by Carmine Di Giandomenico captures the storm’s intensity.

Barry's speed powers have been stolen by Grodd, who plans to steal all speed from the world by using a giant lightning rod he has constructed. With Barry powerless, Kid Flash and Avery want to help stop Grodd, but fearing for their safety Barry orders them to leave Central City, leaving the older Wally as the only Flash remaining in town. As the older Wally begins evacuating Central City, Barry attempts to use the lightning wand to rekindle his powers, but he needs help from an unexpected source.
