In "Der Button, Kapitel 3," Batman and the Flash journey into the Flashpoint universe, where Bruce Wayne confronts his father, Thomas Wayne—the Batman of that world—only to be thrust into a clash between the Amazons and Atlanteans. As the two Batmen fight back, Barry Allen works to repair the Cosmic Treadmill, but Thomas chooses to stay behind, sacrificing himself to send Bruce and Barry into the timestream—where they face Professor Zoom, still clutching the mysterious Button.

In "Der Button, Kapitel 4," Barry Allen and Bruce Wayne find themselves adrift in the time stream after returning from the Flashpoint universe, only to witness the shocking death of Professor Zoom at the hands of an enigmatic, god-like entity. A mysterious voice calls out—Jay Garrick, long lost in time, reaches out from the timestream, but Barry can’t save him as a force pulls him away. As the two heroes grapple with what they’ve seen, a glowing blue hand silently retrieves the button that fell from Zoom’s corpse, leaving behind a deeper mystery in the fabric of time.
