Batman / Superman #14

The cover of Batman/Superman #14 says it all with chilling elegance: Superman and Batman are rendered as two halves of a single, glowing-eyed face — their identities literally merged — surrounded by what appears to be Brainiac's alien machinery in fiery copper tones. The tagline "To understand the mind of a villain… they must become one!" sets up a genuinely compelling premise for part three of "Planet Brainiac," with cover art by David Marquez brought to vivid life through Alejandro Sánchez's rich color work. If you've been following this arc, this issue looks like a satisfying escalation of whatever dark corner the World's Finest have been pushed into.
