Skottie Young, born March 3, 1978, is an American comic book artist, writer, and children's book illustrator whose career spans more than two decades of prolific output across superhero titles, creator-owned projects, and prose collaborations. He broke into comics in the early 2000s and built a reputation at Marvel working on characters including Rocket Raccoon, contributing to titles such as *Rocket Raccoon* and *Rocket Raccoon and Groot*. Among his most celebrated achievements are the comic adaptations of L. Frank Baum's Oz novels — including *Dorothy & the Wizard in Oz* and *Ozma of Oz* — produced alongside writer Eric Shanower, which earned him widespread recognition for their distinctive visual charm and imaginative storytelling.

Young's creator-owned series *I Hate Fairyland*, which he both writes and illustrates, demonstrated his talent for darkly comedic fantasy and has remained one of his signature works across multiple volumes. Beyond sequential art, he collaborated with Neil Gaiman on illustrated editions of the prose novel *Fortunately, the Milk*, further extending his range as a storyteller. His style — expressive, rubbery character work with a warmly anarchic energy — has made him one of the more visually distinctive voices working in American comics today, with credits as artist, colorist, inker, letterer, and writer across more than 200 issues.
