I Hate Fairyland #20

The twentieth issue of Skottie Young's gleefully anarchic series arrives with a cover that crackles with magenta lightning and barely contained chaos — a crown-wearing, green-haired girl charges forward clutching a massive battle-axe, her grin equal parts feral and delighted, while a small blue creature and a tiny fairy companion flank her and a wild-eyed figure levitates above, arms outstretched and radiating chaotic energy. Jean-François Beaulieu's colors drench the whole scene in a lurid, electric pink that makes the mayhem feel almost festive. After twenty issues, I Hate Fairyland has lost none of its manic energy, and this cover makes a pretty convincing argument that things are only getting more wonderfully unhinged.
