Deadpool #8
Deadpool #8 delivers one of the more gleefully unhinged cover images of 2019: the Merc with a Mouth stands triumphant atop a massive pig-shaped vehicle, fist raised, swords strapped to his back, while a goggle-wearing companion rides along and explosions light up the smoke-filled sky behind them. Nic Klein's painted cover work gives the whole chaotic scene a surprisingly rich, almost cinematic warmth that pairs beautifully with the sheer absurdity on display. With Skottie Young at the helm of the writing, this issue promises the kind of irreverent, anything-goes energy that's written all over that cover.
