The second issue of Skottie Young's imaginative Image series delivers a cover that practically crackles with menace — a wide-eyed blue creature finds itself cornered by two looming, spider-limbed monsters with glowing eyes, all set against a fiery, candle-lit backdrop filled with strange mechanical odds and ends. Kyle Strahm's linework renders every claw and bulging eyeball with vivid, unsettling detail, while Jean-François Beaulieu's colors bathe the scene in cool blues and smoldering oranges that make the tension pop right off the cover. If this striking image is any indication, Twig is shaping up to be one of 2022's most visually inventive fantasy series.
