“Twist Part Five”

Venom #18 wraps up the "Twist" arc at Part Five, and Skottie Young's cover makes a visceral case for why this storyline demanded attention — a mass of writhing symbiote tendrils engulfs Spider-Man, the Thing, and at least two other figures, all struggling against the dark, pulsing organic mass that dominates every corner of the image. The sense of overwhelming, suffocating threat is palpable, with a shadowy Venom looming at the center and a glimpse of what appears to be Carnage lurking in the upper corner. Daniel Way and Young close out this chapter of their 2004 run with a cover that earns a long second look.

The Fantastic Four trap Eddie in the Baxter Building and Reed takes Patricia and her Venom suit away to a safe containment facility.
