Cable & Deadpool #44

The title logo says it all — "Cable" is crossed out and replaced with "Wolverine," and this 2007 cover by Skottie Young delivers on that switcheroo with raw, kinetic energy. Wolverine crouches low with claws extended and teeth bared, squaring off nose-to-nose against a battered, battle-scarred Deadpool, who levels a massive gun right back at him — a third red-suited figure looms behind them in the fiery glow. Fabian Nicieza, Ron Lim, and Jeremy Freeman bring "Head Games" to life in what looks like one gloriously chaotic team-up gone sideways.
