Bully Wars #4

Bully Wars keeps escalating in spectacular fashion with issue #4, as Aaron Conley's cover drops two hapless characters — a stocky teen and a furry creature — straight into the coiling grip of a massive, slime-dripping tentacled monster whose armored, spike-studded bulk dominates the foreground. Jean-Francois Beaulieu's vivid pink-and-purple palette gives the whole chaotic scene a gleefully grotesque energy that perfectly matches Skottie Young's offbeat sensibility. If the series has been building toward something bigger and weirder, this 2018 Image Comics installment makes a strong case that it's arrived.
