I Hate Fairyland #10
Skottie Young and colorist Jean-François Beaulieu send I Hate Fairyland into genuinely surreal territory with this tenth issue, its cover depicting a wild-eyed, green-haired girl wearing a small crown clinging to a floating chunk of candy-laden terrain — complete with cupcake mushrooms, a giant lollipop, and candy canes — as it tumbles through a dazzling, asteroid-strewn cosmic void. A tiny companion figure perches atop the lollipop above her, while the whole confectionary island drifts apart in spectacular fashion against a nebula-rich, rainbow-hued sky. It's a wonderfully unhinged image that captures everything delightfully wrong about being stuck in Fairyland.
