Something feels deeply wrong at Strange Academy — the classroom is empty, every student desk abandoned, while a powerful, staff-wielding figure in a fur-collared coat surveys the vacant room with quiet intensity as a startled student peers in from the doorway. The shelves lined with skulls, arcane tomes, and strange botanical specimens make it clear this is no ordinary school, and that unsettling stillness raises questions that Skottie Young and Humberto Ramos clearly have no intention of letting go unanswered. Issue #17 delivers the kind of atmospheric unease this series does so well, rendered with Ramos's sharp linework and Edgar Delgado's warm, foreboding colors.
