Ozma of Oz #8
The finale of Marvel's eight-issue adaptation arrives with one of the most quietly affecting covers of the series — a young girl in a white dress, red bow in her hair, standing at the edge of a mossy clifftop ledge beneath an enormous full moon, with a small yellow creature beside her gazing up at the starry sky. Skottie Young's art captures a mood of wistful reflection that feels perfectly suited to a journey's end, while Jean-François Beaulieu's soft teal and gold palette gives the whole image an almost dreamlike glow. Eric Shanower and Young's adaptation of L. Frank Baum's beloved tale closes out here in style — a fitting send-off for fans who've followed every step of this magical eight-issue run.
