Ron Randall was born on November 22, 1956, and is an American comic book artist whose career spans more than four decades of steady, versatile work across both mainstream and independent publishing. He is perhaps best known as the creator of Trekker, an original science-fiction bounty hunter character that showcased his ability to build worlds entirely from scratch.
Warlord #64 (1982)
Randall broke into comics around 1981 and demonstrated an unusually broad range of craft, earning credits not only as penciler but also as inker, colorist, letterer, and writer across more than 300 issues. That versatility made him a reliable collaborator on titles of widely varying tone and genre. His longest association is with Warlord, the sword-and-sorcery series, though his bibliography extends to superhero ensemble work on Justice League Europe and Doom Patrol, war-era adventure on Airboy, fantasy adaptation on DragonLance, and creator-driven storytelling on The Crusades.
Warlord #67 (1983)
Throughout his career Randall brought a clean, expressive draftsmanship to whatever assignment he took on, balancing action-driven layouts with character-focused detail. His sustained productivity from the early 1980s through 2024 reflects both professional adaptability and a genuine commitment to the medium. Trekker in particular stands as a testament to what an artist-writer can build independently — a character with a distinct identity that has endured well beyond the series' initial run.
