This February 2007 issue of Outsiders delivers a striking confrontation right on its cover, where a red-and-orange-clad fighter brandishing a sword lunges with fierce intensity toward a green-armored, mechanically imposing figure — billed pointedly as "The Sword… and the Saber!" The dynamic composition by cover penciler Matthew Clark and inker Art Thibert captures real urgency, with the attacking warrior's battle cry practically leaping off the page. Judd Winick closes out the "Mad Scientists" arc with this finale, and the creative team of Ron Randall and Art Thibert promises the kind of kinetic action the cover so vividly telegraphs.
