IDW and Rovio Books take the beloved mobile game into wonderfully uncharted territory with this April 2015 second issue. Ron Randall's cover art reimagines the Birds as hulking, battle-worn humanoid creatures — a lean, muscular red bird squaring off alongside a massive, heavily scarred white bird hunched forward in a menacing crouch. It's a surprisingly gritty, almost monster-movie take on the franchise that makes you genuinely curious about what's waiting inside.
